RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Huang specializes in geroscience, with a dedicated focus on the cognitive functioning and mental health of older adults. His research addresses core topics such as brain and cognitive sciences, network neuroscience of human cognition, cognitive and social neuroscience of aging, and psychiatric disorders. He is particularly interested in understanding brain connectivity, brain plasticity, and multimodal neuroimaging techniques, including resting-state and task-related fMRI, Diffusion MRI, and EEG. His work emphasizes exploring cognitive reserve, neural dynamics, and the neural basis of aging, with applications to promoting healthy aging, mitigating age-related cognitive decline, and developing innovative interventions such as neurofeedback-based cognitive training using virtual reality.
